Adams Morgan Apple Festival and Pie Contest coming Saturday, October 26
|
The
Adams Morgan Apple Festival
will be held on
Saturday October 26, 2019 from 10:30am to 1pm
at SunTrust Plaza. The festival is a collaborative effort between the Adams Morgan Partnership and the Adams Morgan Farmers Market.
This year will also mark the 6th annual Apple Pie Contest with proceeds from slice sales benefiting
Platform of Hope
. We have already hit our limit of 16 contestants and have a standby list as well, so if you weren't able to enter, please try again next year.

Feedback needed on proposed changes to Metrobus routes 42 and 43
|
WMATA is proposing changes to several metrobus lines, including the 42 and 43 routes that follow Columbia Road through the neighborhood. The proposed change would replace some of the 42 buses with 43 buses during off-peak hours. The difference in the two routes is that the 43 bus goes under Dupont Circle while the 42 bus follows the circle. Changes are also being proposed for several other routes.

Great Streets Small Business Grant Funding Availability
|
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) welcomes submissions from eligible small businesses seeking to improve their place of business through this capital improvement grant program.
Purpose
:
The purpose of the
Great Streets Initiative
is to transform certain designated emerging commercial corridors into thriving, walkable, shoppable and inviting neighborhood experiences. The Great Streets Initiative does this by supporting existing businesses, attracting new businesses, increasing the District’s tax base, and creating new job opportunities for District residents.
Award
:
DMPED will award up $3,000,000.00 total in grants. Maximum request per application is $50,000.00.
Eligible businesses
:
A new or existing small business owner whose business location is either within, and/or plans to move to a Great Street Corridor are eligible (see map at: http://ht.ly/m90F30cM0bz ).
Ineligible businesses:
Adult Entertainment, Auto Body Shops, Financial Institutions, Construction/General Contracting, Home-Based Businesses, Non-Profit Child Development Centers, Hotels, Phone Stores, and Real Estate Development/Property Management Realtor.

High-Performance Building Innovation and Training Hub for DC: Input Requested
|
Your input is needed to help the
DC Department of Energy and Environment
(DOEE) most effectively support building owners, operators, contractors, developers, and designers in meeting the District’s green building requirements and ambitious policy and code developments. You have been selected for this survey through coordinated outreach to key District professionals in these roles.
This survey is being conducted by a team led by the
Institute for Market Transformation
, with support from
Arup
, the
Building Energy Exchange
,
New Buildings Institute
, and
Steven Winter Associates
. DOEE has selected this team to develop and operate a high-performance building innovation and training hub that will identify the high-impact needs of the District and its practitioners in its meeting of short- and long-term green building and climate goals. A key part of this work is understanding from practitioners what the opportunities, barriers, and needs are to achieve more widespread adoption of high-performance buildings across the District.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated. The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
