DCNHA Affiliate Member Nightclub Security Consultants (NSC) is conducting a two-day National HOST Security Training and Hospitality Security Certification Program in D.C. on Monday, July 25, and Tuesday, July 26. This nationally-recognized, well-regarded and highly-recommended staff training program is appropriate for all license classes, venue types, and venue sizes – including bars, restaurants, and nightclubs – and for both security personnel and management team leadership, as well as operators and managers.
The sessions run from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day and will be held at DCNHA Member establishment and training session sponsor Archibald's Gentlemen's Club and Fast Eddie's Sports, Wings & Beer, at 1520 K Street NW, on the Third Floor. Participants must attend both training days for certification.
This bar, restaurant, and nightclub security training program has been reviewed by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA), and the District's Office of the Attorney General (OAG). NSC has trained over 800 local bar, restaurant, and nightclub security staff and managers over the past 5 years using the HOST Security training program and helping operators lower their overall liquor liability.
Hospitality Operations Security Techniques (HOST) training is a comprehensive program designed specifically for hospitality, restaurant, and bar security staff and managers. The program covers a wide array of Security Plan Topics essential for your establishment's operations and staff communications. The training will teach employees the laws, rules, and best practices in security.

(EP2) is a 501(c) (3) tax exempt community-based organization – and we desperately need your help this summer. EP2 provides direct services and training to at-risk and underserved DC children, youth, and their families in annual summer camps. With the financial crisis at the DC Trust, Education Plus 2 needs your help. Many of these children and their families live in fear of violence. They endure diets of fast food and cope with intergenerational illnesses such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and respiratory diseases. Our mission is to equip disadvantaged children, ages 6-14, and their families with the skills and knowledge required to build a foundation for healthy living, and healthy decision making. EP2 accomplishes this by providing information, reinforcing that with daily, related camp experiences, and adding in plain old fun in a safe, structured setting. This year EP2 plans to enroll 45 children ages 6-14, predominately African American and Latino. Most 2016 campers live in the Columbia Heights area. The six week camp focuses on preventing academic loss and encouraging healthy eating and fitness and even partners with an urban gardening program. We also provide meals as many of our campers otherwise go without.
At EP2 we recruit volunteers, partner with groups such as Howard and Georgetown University Medical Schools. We seek out low cost and free opportunities such as utilizing the DC Public School curriculum and visiting libraries. We are also pretty good at stretching the dollars and the pennies. But costs are skyrocketing. A donation of $6,000 will provide scholarships for 10 campers – and that will change lives. We look forward to hearing from you.
