Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a force of nature and an iconic symbol of what can be accomplished with drive and determination combined with a quest for justice. She embodied so much of the character of the Adams Morgan community that when we redesigned our streetlight banners in early 2019, we featured a portrait of her (by Rebecca Williams ) with the slogan " LIVE YOUR T RUTH ." Justice Ginsburg asked if she could have one of the banners for her chambers, a request we happily obliged. We were devastated to hear of her passing on Friday and left a pair of our streetlight banners on the steps of the Supreme Court on Saturday as a show of gratitude and respect.

Similarly, when we set about making cautionary signs reminding people to wear masks this Spring, we employed her image again to remind people that it's more than just their health that masks protect; it's to protect everyone you come in contact with and everyone with whom they come in contact. The signs were so popular and got so much attention that we eventually bowed to requests and started an online store to sell the signs. In the past couple months we've sold dozens of the RBG signs to be picked up here in DC and also shipped all over the country. Since the announcement of her passing on Friday evening, we've had a small spike in sales of the sign, but we think the correct thing to do is to discontinue production of them. We will honor all the existing orders and keep the product live on the store through the end of this week, but will subsequently remove it.

We will be leaving the streetlight banners up as a reminder of what Justice Ginsburg stood for and with the hope she will continue to inspire us all.
