This is a friendly reminder that the United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll Washington, D.C. Marathon & 1/2 is this Saturday, March 10, 2018.

Please be advised the Metropolitan Police Department will be enforcing no parking on the entire race route. Cars will be ticketed and towed starting at midnight on March 10. Residents are advised to move their cars to another location. Please click here for the MPD Traffic Advisory. Nate Lewis exhibition at Morton Fine Art

Nate Lewis grew up in Beaver Falls, near Pittsburgh, Pa. Born 1985, Nate benefited from the cultural mix of his Trinidad-born father who was raised in Brooklyn and his white American-born mother, raised in Philadelphia. He graduated from VCU with his BSN and was a practicing critical care nurse for five years as well as professional fine artist. He has been awarded prestigious residencies at Pioneer Works and Dieu Donne in NYC, Agora Culture on Martha's Vineyard and won a number of artist fellowship grants from the DC Commission of the Arts and Humanities. Hidden Tensions is Nate's third solo exhibition at Morton Fine Art.

Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend

Special Notice to businesses with alcohol licenses:

Spring Daylight Saving Time will cause the clock to spring forward one hour from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, March 11. This will result in the loss of one hour, making that Sunday a 23-hour day. Because of this, District law allows on-premises establishments that normally close at 3 a.m. to operate until 4 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, March 11. This includes restaurants, taverns, nightclubs, hotels and multipurpose facilities.

Licensees are not required to register in the program to participate in spring Daylight Saving Time. Licensees that have a settlement agreement limiting hours of operation or an Alcoholic Beverage Control Board order limiting hours of operation are prohibited from participating.

WRAP's 2018 St. Patrick's Day SoberRide Campaign

WRAP’s 2018 St. Patrick’s Day SoberRide campaign is scheduled to run from 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) until 4:00 a.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018. Please check SoberRide.com for code details.

WRAP’s SoberRide program is one of the nation’s most successful free safe rides programs for potentially impaired drivers. However, prevention is essential for keeping our highways safe during high-risk holidays. If your organization needs an alcohol awareness presentation, WRAP’s Safe And Vital Employees (SAVE) program is available free of cost to you. This 45-minute, customized presentation will inform employees and/or military personnel about the physical, economic and legal consequences of impaired driving.
