AMPBID Annual Meeting Election Results
|
The Adams Morgan Partnership BID (AMPBID) annual meeting was held on Tuesday, March 8 at 5pm.
The BID membership voted for 5 positions on the Board of Directors (3 property owners and 2 business owners). The ballot will also included a vote on revisions to the AMPBID bylaws. The bylaws revisions were approved by the voters.

Bike To Work Day 2022 Registration is Live
|
The League of American Bicyclists began Bike to Work Day as part of Bike Month in 1956. Over the years, Bike to Work Day has grown into a widespread event with countless bicyclists taking to the streets nationwide in an effort to get commuters to try bicycling to work as a healthy and safe alternative to driving alone. In the Metropolitan Washington region, Bike to Work Day has grown from a small group of a few hundred in 2001 to an all-time high of 18,700 participants in 2017.
The Adams Morgan pit stop will be at Unity Park again this year. Adams Morgan regularly has one of the highest registration rates in the city and we plan on having refreshments and other goodies available to riders in addition to the free t-shirt. We'll be updating you with more information as the event gets closer.

Important: Cyber Safety Message

In light of ongoing global events, HSEMA would like to remind businesses about the importance of basic cyber safety practices and exercising a heightened level of vigilance. While there are no specific or credible cyber threats to the U.S. homeland at this time, it is important to protect your organization against disruptive cyber activity that could result in serious data, financial, and reputational loss.
All organizations should report incidents and/or unusual cyber activity to the Federal Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) by emailing
central@cisa.dhs.gov
or (888)-282-0870. You should also notify the DC Fusion Center by emailing
nticcybercenter@dc.gov
.
CISA has created a new website for their “Shields Up” campaign, which contains helpful resources for businesses looking to strengthen their cyber security. Visit

Specific actions you can take today to protect against malicious activity:
Businesses are encouraged to implement the following practices to help reduce loss from a cyberattack:

Keep passwords safe and secure
by using strong passwords, different passwords for different accounts, and using a password manager to store passwords securely online

Ensure the privacy of your accounts
by avoiding posting personal information on social media and avoiding use of public Wi-Fi whenever possible

Avoid social engineering attacks
by not opening suspicious email messages, email links, and attachments

The $40 million Bridge Fund will offer grants to support the recovery and long-term viability of brick-and-mortar small businesses in the restaurant, retail, and entertainment industries that have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Neighborhood Prosperity Fund
NPF incentivizes community development, economic growth, and job creation by leveraging local funds to provide financing for projects that attract private investment to distressed communities.
Locally Made Manufacturing Grant
The Locally Made Manufacturing Grant program supports local businesses that are located in a Great Streets corridor that engage in light manufacturing by providing funding for capital or tenant improvements of commercial property with a designated industrial use. DMPED will award up to

They will discuss how successful small business support initiatives have centered the needs of entrepreneurs of color and those who historically have experienced barriers and disadvantaged access to resources.
